A man accused of stabbing a dentist outside the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department last December pleaded guilty Tuesday.
Daniel Hale, 22, pleaded guilty to assault and robbery in the stabbing of Dr. Candice Flener as she walked into work. Hale told police he did drugs before the attack.
The assault charge carries a 17-year sentence and the robbery charge a 10-year sentence.
Hale is scheduled for formal sentencing on Sept. 14. The judge must decide if the sentences will run consecutively or concurrently.
