Man Punched During Road Rage Incident

A woman ended up with a dented bumper, and a man left with a lump on the side of his face, after a road rage incident in Lexington Wednesday.

Melinda Bennett says she was taking a friend to the hospital for an injury suffered in a crash and got stuck in traffic along Oliver Lewis Way. She says at that point, an aggressive driver plowed into her bumper.

Then he got out to argue.

"I don't know him from Adam or Eve! I don't know him at all!," Bennett said. "He got out of the car full blast wanting to fight over him being wrong."

John Cross got out of his car to help, and the enraged man punched him in the face, leaving a visible knot.

"We pulled over as witnesses, and he didn't like it too much. He hit me in the side of the face," Cross said.

Police say they can't file charges because they did not witness the punch, but cross says he plans to.
