Crews had to rescue a man after he fell in the Red River Gorge early Friday morning.

Officials say a man in his 30s was camping alone in Menifee County when the snow hit. He apparently slipped and fell about 30 feet down a vertical wall at the Indian Staircase. Twelve rescue workers from Wolfe and Menifee County responded to the area round midnight and helped the man out. Officials say he suffered mild hypothermia and a broken leg.

Officials say crews were on the scene until about 6 a.m.
