Lexington police say a man robbed three people and shot one of the victims late Thursday night.

Investigators say all three robberies happened within minutes of each other, starting at around 11:15 p.m. Police say the suspect first flashed a gun at a victim in the parking lot of the Matador North Apartments on Winburn Drive, and forced that person to go to their apartment and carry out a 53-inch TV. Officers say they think the suspect put the TV in a car.

Minutes later, the robber struck again down the street, holding up a man and demanding cash. The suspect shot that victim in the leg. Police say the robber didn't get away with any money in the second robbery. EMS took the victim to UK Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect then returned to Matador North and held up a third victim in the parking lot. The man got away with more than $500 in cash in the third robbery, according to investigators.

"According to our eye witnesses statements, we do think he was on foot when he committed all three robberies," Lexington Police Department Lt. Rodney Sherrod said.

Officers searched the scene with a K9, but didn't turn up any sign of the suspect.
