Man Shot During Road Rage Incident

The driver of a passenger car shot a trucker during an apparent road rage incident in Somerset Thursday night.

Deputies say a purple Nissan pickup truck pulled out in front of a semi along KY-914 at Jordans Way, and the truck driver tailgated the pickup before passing it. Investigators say when both vehicles stopped at a red light, Troy McAninch hopped out of the Nissan's passenger seat, walked up to the tractor-trailer and yelled at the driver. At that point, Luster Rose, 54, climbed out of the semi, brandishing a wooden club. Deputies say the two men fought before McAninch pulled a gun and fired four shots.

Rose was airlifted to UK Hospital. Officials called his injuries life threatening.

Police arrested McAninch and charged him with assault.

Deputies ask any witnesses to any part of the incident call 606-678-5145.
