A man suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during a robbery in Lexington Monday night.

Police say a man and his girlfriend were parked along Ohio Street around 8 p.m. when two men approached and demanded their things. One victim handed over his wallet, and the couple got out of the car and ran away. At that point, one of the suspects fired a shot, hitting the fleeing man in the leg.

The victim was taken to UK Hospital for treatment.

Police say they only got a vague description of the suspects.
