A man suffered a stab wound to the back during a fight at a Mexican restaurant in Lexington Thursday night.
Police say the victim told them he was eating with a friend at the El Potrillo on Alexandria Drive around 10:30 p.m. He said he went to the restroom, and when he returned, his friend was fighting with another man. During the melee, the suspect hit the victim's friend over the head with a beer mug and stabbed the victim in the back. The suspect left the restaurant and took off in a car.
EMS took the victim to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury.
Police say witnesses gave them a good description of the suspect's car. They located it a short time later and took a man in for questioning. Officers say EMS had to take the suspect from police headquarters to the hospital after he had some type of medical emergency during questioning.
A few hours later, police arrested Ricardo Saldana-Marcelino, 36, and charged him with two counts of assault.
