A robber stabbed a man inside a Lexington business during a robbery Wednesday morning.
Police say the victim told them the suspect entered the office at Central Kentucky Turf on Payne Street through an unlocked back door around 7:30 a.m. The robber demanded cash and got away with money belonging to both the victim and the business. The suspect stabbed the victim in the leg and cut him across the chest during the robbery. The victim drove himself to the hospital, and officials described his injuries as non-life threatening.
Another employee at the business says the robber became angry when the victim initially claimed he had no money as he handed over his wallet. The suspect apparently spotted cash in an envelope and then stabbed the victim.
Police say the robber was a black man with a goatee, wearing a hoodie.
