A Louisville man has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the Lexington VA Hospital, accusing staff of negligence that resulted in the amputation of five inches of his penis.
Michael Nash went to the hospital about two years ago for surgery on his penis. He claims that after the procedure, nurses packed his genitals on ice for 16 straight hours, causing frostbite and ultimately gangrene.
"They're some of the most grotesque pictures I have ever seen," Nash's lawyer Larry Jones said. "They're almost so bad that I can't even look at them, and I have a pretty strong stomach. So no, I would not ever wish this on anyone. Not even my worst enemy."
Jones says Nash required reconstructive surgery just to urinate.
According to the attorney, the VA rejected his initial claim back in July with no real explanation.
The VA would not comment on the case.
