The search continues for two men accused of posing as police officers and forcing their way into an Estill County man's home where they bound his hands behind his back with duck tape and robbed him at gunpoint.
James "Joe" Davis tells LEX 18 the terrifying ordeal happened to him on Sept. 18 at his home on Burton-Williams Rd. deep in rural Estill County.
He says that evening he got a late-night knock at his door. The two men said they were police officers. But once they got inside things became very violent.
"They slammed me to the floor and duct taped me and they searched my trailer and took my billfold and the pistol I had laid down," Davis tells LEX 18.
Davis says he had $146 in his wallet and a food stamp card.
The men got away and left Davis tied up on the floor.
He eventually freed himself and went to a neighbor's house to call 911.
Everyone nearby is on alert. One neighbor even says he's installed a security system after hearing about what happened.
Davis says he hopes the men are caught soon.
