A Lexington man woke up to find two burglars rummaging through his apartment early Thursday morning.

Police say the resident at the Beaumont Farms Apartments on Beaumont Center Lane woke up around 2 a.m. and confronted the two burglars trying to take a TV. The suspects apparently walked in through an unlocked door. The burglars ran, grabbing several bags on the way out.

The victim was not hurt. He says the bags contained some documents.

Investigators say they think the suspects had a getaway car waiting. Officers found several items thrown in the street, including a jacket apparently worn by one of the burglars.

"We're looking for two male whites, about five-eight, five-nine, in their mid-20s. One possibly has a goatee. It was dark inside. He didn't get a good description of them - wearing dark clothing," Lexington Police Dept. Lt. Rodney Sherrod said.
