Thursday will be the last hot day in our March heat wave. With highs around 80 this afternoon we'll come close to our record high of 82 in Lexington but probably won't break it. A stray late day shower or storm is possible but better chances for showers and storms kick in overnight and Friday. A slow moving cold front driven east by a huge upper low will push rain with embedded t-storms into the state Friday and lingering into Saturday. It's looking like we'll get a good soaking out of this round with rainfall totals approaching 1" to 1.5". We'll also need to watch for strong to severe storms Friday afternoon and evening with damaging wind and hail possible.
Highs will fall from around 80 Thursday to around 70 Friday and in the upper 50s to low 60s Saturday. We'll clear out late in the weekend and see sunshine return and highs recover into the 70s next week. Get ready for some beautiful spring afternoons late this weekend and especially early next week!
