Marijuana Bust In Morehead

A tip to law enforcement leads to the discovery of a large marijuana crop and an arrest in Morehead.

Around 4pm Friday evening, the Rowan County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky State Police responded in reference to information they had received about drugs in the area. From the air, a KSP helicopter spotted numerous marijuana plants near a residence on Kodiak Rd in Morehead. On arrival, officials say they discovered 96 marijuana plants in two different plots next to the home.

Further search of the residence yielded a small amount of drug paraphernalia as well.

Kenneth D Hamm of Morehead was arrested at the home and charged with cultivation of Marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hamm is currently being held at the Rowan County Detention Center while the incident remains under investigation. Keep reading Lex18.com for more information as the story develops.
