City officials plan to hold a meeting Monday afternoon to discuss a string of arson fires in the Hill Rise Drive area.

The latest fire burned through one side of a duplex on Terrace View Drive on Saturday. Until that blaze, most of the recent fires burned in dumpsters and unoccupied vehicles. Officials say the arsonist's increasing boldness concerns them.

"Whoever has started these fires has moved up to starting fires in occupied residences, which is very concerning," Lexington Fire Department Major Mark Blankenship said.

City officials plan to meet with area residents at 4 p.m. Monday at the Preakness Apartments' club house.
