The case of a former UK basketball star charged in a ticket scam case has been waived to a Fayette County grand jury.

Derrick Miller is accused of selling UK tickets he never produced in at least five Kentucky counties. Last month, Miller, who was originally charged with theft, pleaded guilty to criminal attempt in Clark County after police say he took about $5,000 from two Clark County businessmen for UK basketball tickets he never produced.

The plea deal requires Miller to pay $2,500 in restitution and he will also enroll in a Louisville rehab program through the Volunteers of America.

Miller's lawyer said that his client had developed a drug problem that led him to his actions.

Another former UK player, Ed Davender is also accused of selling UK tickets he didn't produce. At this point, however, police don't think the two worked together.
