Police say authorities in Connecticut located a missing Bell County teen safe and sound.
Officials say Madison York, 14, walked away from the middle school she attends Wednesday morning. Witnesses say they saw the teen get into a van with two other people.
According to her uncle, York is safe and in protective custody in Connecticut.
According to the Hartford Courant, a New Britain man who traveled to Kentucky with a teen-aged boy to pick up York may face charges after the girl was found safe in the city Thursday night, police said.
"We have a lot of investigating to do on our end," interim Chief James Wardwell said Friday. "We're going to work hand in hand with Kentucky authorities."
