Emergency management officials in Rowan County say rescue crews located a missing Morehead State University student early Friday morning.
Officials say the 20-year-old student went into the woods near Eagle Lake Thursday evening while it was still light out. Although familiar with the area, he got lost when it got dark outside. Friends got very concerned when the student's cell phone died. Several rescue teams fanned out in the woods and two boats deployed in the lake. Rescuers found the student in a deep ravine when he heard them yelling his name and responded.
The student was not hurt.
His cell phone apparently went dead because he was using it as a flashlight.
Officials have not released the man's name, saying they want to notify his family first.
