BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Erica Rogers scored 16 points to lead Montgomery County to a 60-49 win over Ashland Blazer in the first round of the Kentucky girls' Sweet 16 on Wednesday.
Montgomery County (28-6) advances to play Marion County (31-0) in a quarterfinal game Friday.
Schyler Tipton had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Montgomery County, and Macie Spence added 13 points.
Montgomery County took control of the game with an 18-6 advantage in the third quarter.
The Indians shot 57.1 percent from the field while holding Ashland Blazer (25-7) to 29.7 percent field goal shooting.
Haley Sue Foutch, Sydney Cullop and Kaylyn Gambill led the Kittens with 10 points apiece.
