Thursday is our transition day- from hot & muggy to cooler, drier and sunny. The problem- it'll be a stormy transition. Expect partly sunny skies with highs in the low to mid 80s today but also expect another round of mainly afternoon and evening showers and storms. While the threat for severe storms is low we'll still need to watch for torrential rain leading to possible flash flooding, frequent lightning, hail and brief damaging wind gusts from a few of these storms.
After our cold front sags south overnight with lows in the mid to upper 50s we finally get to the good stuff. A dominant ridge of Canadian high pressure will take over for the weekend and with it much cooler and less humid air. Friday will be beautiful but very cool with well below average highs in the low to mid 70s. After a chilly Friday night with mostly clear skies and Saturday morning lows in the mid to upper 40s we're sunny and in the low to mid 70s again Saturday with a bounce back to the mid to upper 70s and continued sunshine Sunday. Perfect weather for Friday night football games, grilling, yard work, porch sitting... whatever excuse you can come up with to head outside!
