The mother accused of killing her toddler who made a plea deal with prosecutors earlier this month was sentenced to three years for reckless homicide Wednesday morning.
Jessica Charles was originally charged with murdering her 22-month-old daughter in February 2010. Police say Danika Charles was taken to the Clark County Hospital, where she later died.
Charles admitted to putting the child in a dangerous situation resulting in her death in the plea deal.
Autopsy results show the toddler died from blunt force trauma to the head, chest, abdomen, legs and arms.
Charles received credit for the 836 days she has been held in jail.
