A National Guard helicopter has been brought in to assist in the search in the Red River Gorge in Wolfe County for a missing man with dementia.

Gerald Keith Bush, 66, went missing around 6 p.m. Monday. Family members say they think he may have gotten in a car. Wolfe County search and rescue crews searched an area around Sky Bridge Road in the Red River Gorge Monday evening, but called off the search for the night. Officials searched all day Tuesday, then resumed the search Wednesday morning.

Bush is from Nicholasville, but the family is in the process of moving to Wolfe County. Other family members already live in the area.

Bush stands 5-foot-6 and weighs about 160 pounds. He has short salt and pepper hair and a beard with similar coloring. He was last seen wearing light colored blue jeans, a dark blue shirt with "I Love Beer" in white letters across the front and a dark blue Budweiser ball cap.

Contact the Wolfe County dispatch at 606-668-6757 if you have any information on Bush's whereabouts.
