The tragic tale of the 1958 Floyd County bus crash that killed 26 children and the driver is now being told in the pages of a new book.

The new book is by the same Scott County man who turned the story into a popular documentary earlier this year. He says there has been so much interest in the film, a book just made sense as the next step.

Michael Crisp spent months putting together the in-depth, haunting documentary called "The Very Worst Thing." It details the crash that sent a Floyd County school bus over a cliff and into the Big Sandy River.

Crisp says the film has gotten nationwide attention and many viewers wanted to know more. The book is the answer to that call. He says it chronicles the making of the film as well as parts of his research into the crash he wasn't able to get into during the film.

Crisp has sold hundreds of copies of the book online and at screenings of the film. He's working to get them onto selves at local book stores sometime this summer and into local libraries.
