There is new information about why both the principal at Lexington's Cardinal Valley Elementary and the dean resigned.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, the two are accused of eavesdropping. The paper reports employees told investigators that principal Ivonne Beegle and academic dean Suzanne Ray violated Kentucky eavesdropping laws in the fall of 2011 by hiding a voice recorder in a flower pot.
Three employees say the two listened to recordings from private meetings between the Fayette County public school district office and Cardinal Valley employees as they discussed working conditions there.
Under Kentucky law, eavesdropping is illegal.
