Nicole Pence currently works for LEX-18 in Lexington, Kentucky as the Co-Anchor of LEX 18 News at Sunrise; Kentucky's number one-rated morning show. Ms. Pence joined the newsteam in August of 2008 as a general assignment reporter. After a few months, however, she was promoted to the LEX-18 Sunrise Team as the morning show's only news reporter. Nicole's dedication to journalism and outgoing personality quickly landed her the Co-Anchor spot on Sunrise in March of 2010.

Since being at WLEX, Nicole has covered a wide-range of stories, including the Kentucky Derby and the 2009 Presidential Inauguration in Washington, DC. Ms. Pence along with her co-workers were nominated for an Emmy for their journalistic work in the nation's capital. In 2011, Nicole was also nominated by the Kentucky Associated Press as "Best Anchor". It was the first year Ms. Pence was eligible for the award.

Prior to working at LEX-18, Nicole most recently reported for Indiana's NewsCenter (NBC/ABC/CW) in Fort Wayne, Indiana where she covered breaking and political news and served as the station's main 'fill-in' anchor. She also briefly reported for the local FOX affiliate in Evansville, Indiana.

A midwestern girl, Nicole grew up in Columbus, Indiana. She graduated Cum Laude from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana with a double major in Communication Arts & Sciences and Spanish and a minor in Political Science. She is currently working on achieving her graduate degree in Public Affairs (MPA).

While studying journalism at American University in Washington DC for a semester in college, Nicole got a taste of national network news, interning for the show Weekend Live on The Fox News Network.

In her spare time, Nicole loves to travel. She lived with a family in Segovia, Spain, studied cooking in Italy, climbed the Great Wall last Christmas in Beijing, China and, recently returned from seeing the Pyramids in Cairo, Egypt. Ms. Pence is also an avid runner, completing the Nashville Country Music Mini-Marathon. Nicole is an active member of Lexington's Young Professional Association.
