Nikki joined the LEX 18 News Team in October of 2010 as the weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. Originally from Kingsport, Tennessee; this southern belle is thrilled to be back below the Mason-Dixon Line.

Prior to joining WLEX, Nikki was the Noon and 5pm anchor and producer at WHAG in Hagerstown, Maryland. Before that, she was a one-man-band reporter for the station. There she covered several stories including an investigation into a missing woman that landed her a guest appearance on Investigation Discovery on The Discovery Channel.

Before moving to Maryland, Nikki worked as a Sports Marketing Coordinator for Red Zebra Broadcasting/ESPN Radio and Redskins Radio in Washington, D.C. promoting the Redskins.

Nikki graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in journalism and electronic media with emphasis in political science in December of 2005. She hopes the avid UK fans won't hold her orange pride against her!

During college, Nikki was the President of The Vol Channel (TVC), the campus-run station in Knoxville. Nikki also studied abroad in Australia, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary. She loves to travel and has also spent time in the Dominican Republic, Colombia and the Bahamas.

Nikki is also a contributor to the Radio and Television Digital News Association where she writes a bi-monthly column. She covers events for RTDNA including the First Amendment Awards dinner and the RTDNA Convention.

Nikki loves to volunteer and can't wait to get involved in the Lexington community. One of her favorite charities is the humane society. While in the D.C. and Maryland area, Nikki was a fundraising "model" for the event, "Fashion for Paws." There she raised more than $15,000 for the animals in the D.C. area. In addition to animals, Nikki also volunteers with the ALS Association, the Alzheimer's Association, the Red Cross, the Yellow Ribbons Organization and the Tourette Syndrome Association.

A native of Kingsport, TN, Nikki spends her free time watching college football, dancing, reading and spending time with her family and friends and her cat Louis Vuitton. She is passionate about news and considers herself very blessed to be able to do what she loves everyday.
