The northern Kentucky teacher accused of beating his son over a game of hopscotch pleaded not guilty in the case Monday.
Police in Boone County say Christopher Robison, 46, caused severe bruising on his 5-year-old son after hitting him with a belt on July 4. Investigators say the beating came after a game of hopscotch which did not meet Robison's satisfaction, but Robison says he whipped his son because he kept "lipping off." He says the bruises were the result of the child hitting the side of a swimming pool, not the belt.
Robison has been suspended from his teaching job at Camp Ernst Middle School.
