LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Lexington Center Corp President and CEO Bill Owen says the University of Kentucky basketball team will be able to move into its re-constructed locker room in Rupp Arena by the time of the home opener on Nov. 16 against Lafayette.
Owen, though, cautioned the Lexington Herald-Leader (bit.ly/SbnqBb) that "useable" and completely finished are two different things.
Owen said the $3 million project is like a kitchen renovation, where the room is useable, but more work may be needed.
As of late last week, officials were expecting to set up temporary locker rooms for Big Blue Madness on Oct. 12 and the Blue-White scrimmage on Oct. 24.
Owen said the temporary locker rooms may also be needed for the exhibition games against Northwood on Nov. 1 and Transylvania on Nov. 5.
