Kentucky Utilities officials say an equipment failure caused a power outage affecting more than 7,000 customers in Scott and Franklin counties early Monday morning.
Officials say an insulator broke, affecting a transmission line. The outage was first reported just after 2 a.m., and crews had power restored by 3:20 a.m.
At the height of the outage, 7,500 KU customers were without power.
