One man is dead and four people have been charged in an accident in Harrison County.
It happened Sunday around 2:00 in the afternoon on Highway 36 East, about 5 miles outside of Cynthiana.
Deputies say the van over-corrected, went off the right side of the road and landed upside down in an embankment which had high water from Sunday's rain. The only fatality was the passenger in the front seat, whom deputies say drowned.
The other four people in the van were taken to the hospital to be checked out and later arrested and charged with alcohol intoxication.
Sheriff Bruce Hampton says none of the passengers admitted to being the driver and additional charges are pending.
Deputies are looking into several factors that may have caused the accident, including wet roads, speed and alcohol.
The van had Ohio license plates.
