A woman suffered burns in a fire at a Lexington high rise apartment complex late Thursday night.

Fire officials say a resident was grilling on an 11th floor balcony of the Park Plaza complex on Main Street when the fire got out of control and flames spread into the apartment. Sprinklers activated, containing the blaze. One person suffered some burns. EMS took the victim to UK Hospital for treatment.

Officials say the fire caused smoke and water damage on three floors.
