One Killed, 2 Hurt In Garrard County Accident

One man died and two people suffered injuries in a single vehicle accident in Garrard County Thursday night.

Police say the driver of a pickup truck lost control along Gooch Pike, near KY-52 east of Lancaster, around 10 p.m. The driver overcorrected, and the truck left the road and rolled over. Police say at least one person was thrown from the cab, and the vehicle landed on top of the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a man and woman were also inside the truck.

"Right now, it's up in the air how severe it is, but they were coherent and talking whenever EMS arrived," KSP Sgt. Harvey Baxter said.

EMS took the woman to a local hospital. The surviving male victim was airlifted to UK Hospital.

Officials have not released the identities of any of the victims, but they say they think all three lived in Garrard County.
