An online auction for 300 autographed pieces of the NCAA basketball floor on which the University of Kentucky won its eighth national championship earlier this year starts at noon Thursday.

All proceeds from the auction will be split between Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville and Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington.

Online bidding is at www.2012UKFloor.com and will run from noon Thursday until noon on Oct. 18.

The auction and fundraising effort is sponsored by Northwestern Mutual, which got the floor following the tournament as an official corporate sponsor of the NCAA. The company donated it to raise money to fight pediatric cancer.
