Officials with the Fayette County Coroner's Office say the pedestrian hit by a car in Winchester Tuesday night has died.

Witnesses say the driver of the car swerved to miss Michael Price, 38, as he crossed Oxford Drive around 9 p.m., but could not avoid him. The car hit Price and then crashed into a building. The windshield of the car was badly damage by the impact.

EMS took Price to a local hospital, and officials say he was later flown to UK Hospital. According to the coroner's office, Price died of traumatic head injuries.
