An SUV hit and injured a pedestrian along Loudon Avenue in front of the Hope Center in Lexington Tuesday evening.

Police say the 56-year-old man was wearing a "halo" brace to stabilize his neck after suffering an injury earlier in the day. Witnesses say the brace may have prevented him from turning his head and seeing the oncoming SUV.

Officials did not release the man's name or condition, but called his injuries non-life threatening.
