A Pennsylvania woman was badly hurt in a single-vehicle accident in Madison County Tuesday morning.
The accident happened at about 8:50 a.m. on Big Hill Avenue / KY 21 East in Madison County. The preliminary investigation revealed that a passenger vehicle was traveling west when the vehicle crossed the east bound lane, before leaving the road way. The vehicle struck a barb wire fence and utility pole before coming to final rest.
The driver, Abigail Dietz, 27, of Glenside, Pennsylvania was transported by Madison County EMS to the University of Kentucky Hospital with severe injuries.
Police say Dietz was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash. So far, police have not said what may have caused the accident.
