FRANKFORT (AP) - A city planner who has written about making cities walkable to improve public health, sustainability and the economy will be in Frankfort on Thursday and Friday for a lecture and workshop.
Jeff Speck, author of "Walkable City: How Downtown Can Save America, One Step at a Time," will deliver the keynote lecture Thursday night during the 2014 Kentucky Main Street Program annual winter conference. The event will be at 7 p.m. EST at the Grand Theatre in downtown Frankfort.
On Friday, Speck will present a workshop from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet building in Frankfort.
Admission is $10 for the lecture and $25 for the workshop. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance at http://www.harrodsburgfirst.com .
