A man has been sentenced in a deadly shooting in Whitley County.
The News Journal Reports Keith Mason entered a conditional guilty plea in the 2012 death of his former stepfather, Bobby Vanover.
He pleaded guilty to 2nd Degree Manslaughter.
In exchange, prosecutors recommended a seven year prison sentence.
The paper reports another unusual condition of the plea deal.
Prosecutors agreed to allow Mason to appeal the case based on a self-defense law.
If the appeals court sides with Mason, the case could be dismissed.
Mason maintains that he shot Vanover in self defense.
