Boone County police say they have arrested a man accused of stealing the candle money from the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church located on Veteran's Way in Burlington last month.

David Lillard, 37, of Covington was arrested Wednesday and charged with the theft, which took place on September 23. In addition to probation charges, Lillard's Boone County charges include theft by unlawful taking, trespassing, and criminal mischief.

Lillard will be transferred to Boone County Detention Center once he is adjudicated in Kenton County.
