Lexington police arrested a man after a chase Sunday night.

Police say an officer pulled over Deshawn Cotton, 24, on a traffic stop. As the officer was questioning him, Cotton tried to drive off with the officer holding onto the car window.

Police say the vehicle crashed into a ditch and Cotton ran off, tossing away some marijuana wrapped in a napkin. Police chased him down and made the arrest. Cotton faces several charges including wanton endangerment, fleeing and evading police, tampering with evidence and other traffic offenses.
