Following a tip, Kentucky State Police arrested two people in Lexington on drug charges Thursday afternoon.
Police say they received information that a man known as Lorenzo was trafficking drugs in Lexington. An investigation led troopers and narcotics detectives to arrest Lorenzo Barnes, 35, and Desiree Robinson, 21, in a Lexington drug store parking lot. Barnes had $6,700 cash on him and an officer located 52 suspected oxycodone pills on Robinson.
Police arrested the pair and charged them both with trafficking a controlled substance.
Police say Barnes tried to destroy a suspected narcotic by eating it while in custody. He also faces a tampering with physical evidence charge.
