Lexington police continue to search for a man who mugged a woman in broad daylight behind the main branch of the public library Tuesday afternoon.

Police say the victim told them she was walking through an ally behind the library on Main Street around 1 p.m. when a man tried to take her things. When she resisted, the suspect hit her in the head with a rock or brick.

Police searched the area for more than an hour, but did not locate a suspect.

Officials say EMS took the victim to the hospital for treatment and she will be OK.
