Kentucky State Police say someone may have spotted the car involved in a Rockcastle County robbery overnight.
Investigators say a Rockcastle County dispatcher got a tip that the robber could be in Franklin County. The tipster said that they spotted a silver PT Cruiser, similar to the one seen leaving the robbery scene, in the area.
On Monday afternoon, Norma Cummins and her daughter Becky filled a prescription for poison ivy at the Rite Aid pharmacy just off I-75. The next stop was McDonald's for an ice cream cone. But Cummins says someone likely followed her from the pharmacy to the restaurant looking for drugs and money.
"This lady came up and wanted directions to Somerset. So I was giving her directions and she started saying she wanted the purse. She held up her blouse and she said, 'Don't make me hurt you', and she had a gun there," Cummins said.
When the suspect realized the medicine was topical cream, she demanded Cummins' wallet.
Police say that they have surveilance video of the thief driving away in a silver PT Cruiser. They are looking for a woman 30 to 40-years-old with short curly blond hair.
The search for the suspect in Franklin County has not turned up anything so far.
