A driver caused quite a headache Saturday afternoon in the middle of the celebrations downtown Lexington for St Patrick's Day.

Police say Dwight Napier was trying to get through the parade traffic when he drove on to the sidewalk, almost hitting several people, including children. Police say he then hit a tree and turned down Second Street where he finally parked his vehicle on the curb. Police believe Napier was driving drunk.

He was taken to UK Hospital for minor injuries. Criminal charges are pending.
