A man and woman shown on surveillance trying to break into a Frankfort woman's home have been identified.

Investigators say they've identified the duo as Vernon Smith and Kassee Thompson, both 18. Police say a home monitoring system installed by the homeowner, Jessica Keithline, caught the pair trying to break into Keithline's home last week. They say the surveillance captured them snooping around as well as Smith trying to kick in a door, and even showed them trying to lure Keithline's dog from the backyard.

Smith and Thompson are now facing a charge of attempted burglary. Nothing was taken from the victim's home.

Police say Thompson was taken into custody Monday, but that Smith remains at-large.

Deputies say Smith is a convicted felon who will more than likely head back to jail for even more time when arrested.
