Police have released the name of the man officers chased down after seven shots were fired into a Lexington home early Tuesday morning.
Police say somebody fired seven shots into the back door of a house along East Loudon Avenue around 3 a.m. A family was at home at the time, but nobody was injured.
A short time later, officers spotted Tevin Earl Williams, 19, walking in the area, carrying a bag. He took off running, and police chased him down, catching him at York Street and Maple Avenue. Officers say they found a backpack along nearby railroad tracks, and they think it belongs to Williams. Police found three handguns inside the bag.
Police arrested Williams and charged him with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, fleeing police, giving a false name, tampering with physical evidence and a parole violation. So far, police have not charged him with shooting into the home.
