Police in Anderson County continue to search for a man wanted for domestic assault after he slipped away during a standoff Tuesday night.

Deputies say they got a call reporting a domestic assault at a home along Beaver Lake Road around 4:45 p.m. A Kentucky State Police trooper and an Anderson County Sheriff's Deputy made contact with Alan Scott Rice, 57, at the scene. Rice's wife and grandchild were taken safely out of the home, but Rice barricaded himself inside, armed with several guns.

Police say they set up a perimeter and obtained an arrest warrant for domestic violence assault. After several attempts to communicate with Rice failed, officers on the scene called in the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team.

Just after midnight, SRT members entered the home and determined Rice was no longer inside. Police went on to search another undisclosed location, but were unable to locate Rice.

Rice is about 6-foot-2 and weighs around 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing tan colored carpenter pants, a dark T-shirt and a black, and orange doo-rag on his head.

Police say they do not know if Rice is still armed.
