The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help for information in an unsolved murder from December.

Paul Brewer, 52, was found shot to death inside of his apartment on Natalie Drive in Mount Sterling on December 22, 2011. Investigators say Brewer's sister couldn't contact him and asked deputies to check his apartment. That's when they found he had been murdered.

Police said Thursday that Brewer was found dead in his bed, and that there was no forced entry into his apartment and nothing had been stolen. He had last been seen the day before at about 4:30 p.m.

Brewer last worked at Cooper Manufacturing in Mount Sterling, but was on medical leave at the time of the murder.

Investigators have not said if they have any persons of interest in the case.
