Police In Richmond Investigate Personal Robbery

Police in Madison County are investigating a personal robbery that happened early Sunday morning.

The incident happened at about 1:35 a.m. The alleged victim told police that he was walking toward Nikki's Tavern on Water Street in Richmond when he was approached by a black male who indicated that he was out of gas and asked the victim for a couple of dollars.
When the victim removed his wallet from his pocket and opened it to retrieve a few dollars, the suspect grabbed the wallet and took off running. The victim started to chase the suspect but another black male grabbed him and held him until the other suspect was able to escape. The victim reported that the wallet contained $80 in cash, credit cards, and personal identification documents.

The suspect who grabbed the wallet was described as a black male, 6'1" to 6'2", slender build, wearing a white tank top.

The black male who grabbed and held the victim was described as being approximately 5'11", stocky build, wearing a lime green shirt.
