Police say they think the same man was responsible for two purse snatchings in downtown Lexington overnight.
The first victim told officers she was walking along Church Street, near Broadway, with two other woman around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday when a man grabbed her purse and sprinted through a church parking lot.
Police say less than an hour later, about a block away near Limestone, a man grabbed a second woman's purse. Officers later located the purse nearby, but weren't sure if anything was missing.
Investigators say they think the man was watching the victims nearby at the Fifth-Third Pavilion and then followed them.
Police say the victims both described the purse snatcher as a black man in his 20s, standing between 5-feet-10 and 6-feet-2 tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white tank-top and baggy blue jeans.
