Police are investigating a Thursday evening shooting in downtown Lexington.

Police say several witnesses saw somebody fire a gun at a man at East Sixth and Elm Street. The victim walked to Maple Street for help. Officials have released few details about the incident, but confirmed the man suffered two gunshot wounds to the back of his leg.

Police did not release any information on the suspect.
